Case 1: reordering an existing product
State the model MFP 0 to MFP 4 and the complete article number. Add the quantity, requested date and delivery address. If you only have an old designation, earlier documents and a photo of the existing pallet help. State whether exactly the same version is needed or whether a change would be possible.
Case 2: choosing a carrier for a new part
Describe the part with outer dimensions, weight, material and intended position. Mark sensitive surfaces or special contours. A drawing is helpful; for a first overview, a clear photo with additional dimensions can also do. A size comparison alone does not replace a technical check later on.
Case 3: supplying an existing machine
Add manufacturer, type and the actual carrier holder. If pallets are already in use, give their article number. Information about the gripper, guide or magazine can be more decisive for compatibility than the general machine designation.
Add process conditions
Write down what happens to the pallet: storage, transport, cleaning, drying or automated picking. For contact with media, you need specific products and conditions. Special requirements for electrical properties or cleanliness should be stated explicitly. Unknown values remain visible as open questions.
State quantities and dates sensibly
Distinguish initial requirement, possible follow-up requirement and later series requirement. A requested date is not yet a confirmed delivery commitment. If the decision first depends on a sample test, this should already be stated in the enquiry. This allows the order of technical clarification and quotation to be agreed.
Your short checklist
- Known model or new application?
- Article number or part drawing available?
- What task should the carrier perform?
- Which process conditions have to be considered?
- Which quantity and which date are needed?
- Which question should be answered first?
Name documents clearly
Use clear file names with part designation and revision. Avoid several contradictory drawings without labelling. Only send documents that are required for the enquiry and may be shared. If in doubt, a descriptive enquiry without confidential details is enough to start with.
