Cleaning as an interplay of part, carrier and process

With MFP flat pallets, you clean small parts directly in the workpiece carrier: the parts stay in their pockets while the pallet passes through the ultrasonic bath, rinsing and drying. This saves transferring parts into baskets, protects sensitive edges and keeps things in order for the next process step. The pallets are designed for washing and drying up to 89 °C. We agree on the medium, temperature and process of your system with you before use.

Look at the whole load

Assess the loaded pallet. Contact points, distances and the orientation of bores or recesses can be relevant. The open grid floor of the MFP pockets touches the parts at only a few points, so the cleaning liquid reaches the surfaces and drains away again. A trial with your parts and your cleaning programme shows how clean the result will be.

What information does coordination need?

Tell us the cleaning process, the medium with its product name, the concentration, temperature and exposure time. Add the subsequent drying and the type of mechanical movement. For repeated use, the planned number of cycles also matters. A general statement such as “is washed” is too vague.

Assess cleaning and drying separately

A part that looks clean can still hold liquid at contact points or in recesses. So after the cleaning trial, also check the drying and the following process step. The requirements for this are defined by your process. A visual impression alone does not amount to a technical cleanliness approval.

How to set up a sample test

Define the assessment criteria in advance. Test the selected pallet with a representative load, document the conditions and compare the condition of part and carrier before and after the trial. Also watch the subsequent removal. If there are deviations, you can then see exactly which condition was changed.

Clarify limits openly

Temperature resistance, suitability for ultrasound and chemical resistance are different questions. A statement on one of these properties does not replace the others. Cleaning medical devices, too, does not automatically make a carrier suitable for sterilisation or cleanroom use.

Cleaning pallets for industrial parts cleaning

MFP flat pallets are designed as cleaning pallets for industrial parts cleaning: parts can be cleaned in the pallet in an ultrasonic bath, temperature resistance covers washing and drying up to 89 °C, and the material offers very good chemical resistance and dimensional stability. This means the pallet also withstands repeated cleaning cycles.

Because cleaning systems work in very different ways, we check the medium, concentration, duration, temperature and process of your application with you before series use – with a sample test on request.
