The Manz MFP system in the data sheet

The Manz AG data sheet (as of August 2020) describes the Manz flat pallet (MFP) as a system of five flat pallets for storing and transporting small parts. Here you will find all dimensions, capacities and properties from the Manz flat pallet data sheet in a clear summary – with tips on how to use the information for your selection.

MFP 4383 × 281.3 × 26 mm57.7 × 54.3 × 17.5 mm24

All models share the same 383 × 281.3 mm footprint. The height only increases with the MFP 3 (18 mm) and MFP 4 (26 mm). The grids are 24 × 17, 17 × 12, 12 × 8, 9 × 6 and 6 × 4 pockets. As pocket size increases, the number of places falls – from 408 to 24.

Material: cleaning, temperature and dimensional stability

The data sheet lists three properties for the material: good temperature resistance for washing and drying up to 89 °C, high dimensional stability and accuracy, and very good chemical resistance. In addition, the parts can be cleaned in the pallet in an ultrasonic bath. The type of plastic and a list of individual chemicals are not specified – so for special cleaning media we check suitability with you.

Handling and automation

The MFP is suitable for a variety of machining equipment and its design is optimised for automation. A notch on the side serves as an anti-rotation feature, and the contact area of the parts is minimised. High-performance vision systems enable automated detection of the parts and their feeding into the machining process. Standardised stacking systems are intended to make automation economically worthwhile.

Stacking and identification

The flat pallets are stackable with the Manz pin pallet. For identification, each pallet carries a barcode label with a serial number. For medical technology, retrofitting with an RFID chip for tracking and tracing the parts is provided. The data sheet contains no information on permissible stacking height or load capacity – these depend on your loading.

Colours

The data sheet names white RAL 9010 as the standard colour; other colours were available for a small surcharge. Today every model is available in two versions with their own article numbers: Classic in grey and Standard/pearl white in white. The article numbers of all models can be found in the product overview.

Applications according to the data sheet

Manz names the storage and transport of small parts in carbide manufacturing and in industries with sensitive small parts and a wide variety of types as the field of application. This is supplemented by the reference to medical technology with the RFID option. The data sheet does not mention properties such as ESD capability, cleanroom suitability or sterilisability.

How to use the information

For identifying existing Manz pallets and comparing the models, the values are a reliable basis.
